Winter Farmer's Markets
The first winter market will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM inside the yellow Munger Barn at the farm. Look for winter markets on the first Saturday of each month until the regular season starts in June. If market is cancelled due to inclement weather it is cancelled for that month. There are no "rain dates".

Holiday Farmer's Market
Farmer's Market Saturday December 5th, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Market features wreaths and greens, baked goods, maple syrup, hand made crafts, jewelry, soap and more! Beautiful hand made quilt raffle. Market held inside at the restored yellow barn- The Munger Barn. Visit the museum farmhouse decorated for the holidays. Stroll the farm grounds and see the chickens and sheep. Enjoy complimentary hot cider and cookies at the farmhouse.

Farmer's Market Resumes Weekly Schedule
The Farmer's Market is held rain or shine on the weekly summer schedule Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 12:30. Shop for local agricultural products including plants and cut flowers, produce, baked goods, maple syrup, honey, meat and shellfish in addition to a selection of local crafts.

Coming Events... Old "MacDudley" Day and Farmer's Markets
Spend a day on the farm this Saturday, May 16th and enjoy activities for children of all ages at Old "MacDudley" Day.

The Farmer's Market is held on the first Saturday of every month, until the market resumes its regular weekly schedule in June. Upcoming dates for 2009 are April 4 and May 2.

Shop from 9:00 AM -12:00 Noon for locally produced baked goods, honey, maple syrup, eggs, milk, cheese and meat, as well as crafts in the warmth of the beautifully restored Munger Barn at the farm.

The Holidays Are Coming
Although the Dudley Farm museum is closed for the season, please note that the grounds and hiking trails are wonderful places to walk off a big holiday feast! The farm is very peaceful and beautiful during the winter months.

Look for the Christmas Holiday Market and Open House on Saturday, December 6th. Shop the Farmer's Market inside the Munger Barn and enjoy a tour of the farmhouse decorated for the holidays.

Second Sunday Fiber Artists at the Dudley Farm April 13th 1-4:00PM
If you are intrigued by the art of handspinning and would like to see local spinners working at a variety of wheels, and have the opportunity to purchase local handspun yarn, plan to be at the Dudley Farm on Sunday afternoon April 13th from 1:00 to 4:00. The Second Sunday Fiber Artisans will be meeting at the farm and providing demonstrations. There will be an opportunity for beginners to try their hand at spinning on a drop spindle. A sheep shearing and fleece sorting demonstration will take place at 2:00. Visitors will be able to meet with representatives of Twist of Fate Spinnery, find a perfect skein of yarn to take home from many of the spinners and view displays of many different fiber arts including the Connecticut Blanket.

The Second Sunday Fiber Artisans are a group of spinners, weavers, knitters and crocheters who are dedicated to preserving and promoting ancient and contemporary fiber arts. The group meets the second Sunday of most months at different locations in Connecticut, and welcomes new members and visitors.

Happy Holidays from the Dudley Farm
Be sure to check out our new image gallery for scenes of the farm! The 2008 calendar and activities will be posted soon. Look for the Winter Farmer's Markets to be held on the first Saturday of each month inside the Munger Barn. Although the Farmhouse museum is closed for the season, don't forget that the grounds and hiking trails are still beautiful this time of year. Stop by for a walk and enjoy the serenity of the farm in winter. The museum re-opens in April, 2008. Happy Holidays!

Christmas Farmer's Market Saturday December 1, 2007 10:00-3:00
Please plan to join us for an old fashioned open house at the museum on Saturday, December first and enjoy the quiet beauty of the farm in winter. Take a step back in time with a visit to the farmhouse decorated for the holidays. Enjoy a cup of hot cider and try to decide which Christmas cookie is the best! The Farmer's Market will be held inside the Munger Barn. The folks from the Market will have baked goods, maple syrup, honey, jam, baskets, cards, crafts of all sorts and wreaths and greens for your holiday decorating. Look for the Connecticut Blankets, made with 100% wool from only Connecticut sheep, including those at the Dudley Farm. In addition, The Farmer's Market is planning to hold winter markets on the first Saturday of each month. Look for more information here, in our newsletter or at the December Holiday Market.

Annual Meeting October 25, 2007
The annual meeting of the Dudley Foundation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2007 in the Munger Barn at the Dudley Farm. Carry in supper at 6:30, meeting at 7:30. Please bring main dish or salad to share. Drinks and dessert will be provided. In order to reduce the use of disposables, we are asking that you bring your own place setting (plate,cup and silverware). Following the meeting and election of officers, the featured speaker will be Clockmaker Mark Dudley. Mark will review clockmaking history in Connecticut with particular attention to wooden works. Please plan to join us!

Farmer's Market Every Saturday 9-12:00
Welcome back to the Farmer's Market held every Saturday morning at the Dudley Farm. The market runs from June through October and features local farm products, produce, baked goods and crafts from over 25 vendors. Fresh milk and cheese, as well as shellfish, are new additions to the wonderful selection of honey, jam, plants, flowers, vegetables, breads, handspun yarns, jewelry, handmade baskets and cards available. There is truly something for everyone at the Market. Come and enjoy a cup of coffee, visit with the neighbors and meet the people who milk the cows, grow the vegetables and bake the bread for you!

Dudley Farm at the Guilford Fair
Visist The Dudley Farm display in the vegetable department at the Guilford Fair, September 15, 16 and 17th. The display features produce from the Heirloom Garden at the Farm. A farm contingent in period dress marched in the parade Saturday morning around the historic Guilford Green with a restored market cart and 1880's wicker baby carriage. The Dudley Farm Quilters Group have this years redwork quilt on display in the needlework tent. Raffle tickets for the quilt are still available at the Fair or at the Farm.

Historic Guilford Twilight Tour This Saturday
The Dudley Farm will be open this Saturday, August 5th,from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Experience the special atmoshpere of Guilford's six historic museums in the evening at The Dudley Farm, Henry Whitfield State Museum, Hyland House, Medad Stone Tavern, Thomas Griswold House, Woodruff Farm Barn Museum. $15.00 per person (age 13+), free for children ages 12 and younger.

The Dudley Farm House will be decorated for the tour with a special display of Victorian house plants, as well as outdoor varieties including Elepahnt Ears, Plumbago and Moonflowers. Plan to visit the Heirloom Vegetable Garden, oxen, sheep and chickens and try a sample of Switchel, the haymaker's thirstquencher. Iced Tea, Lemonade and Cookies will be served in the farmhouse.

Dudley Farm To Publish North Guilford Book
The North Guilford Book Committee is gathering photographs and information to be included in a book about North Guilford covering the years 1850 to 1960. Members of the committee have also been recording oral histories. Research and community response has already yielded a wealth of information and some fascinating stories which will be archived at the museum as well as published in the book. Please contact the farm if you have interesting stories, old newspaper articles or photographs you would like to share.
