Are you a member of The Dudley Farm Museum? No? Well, maybe this is
the time to join! We invite you to attend our annual Dudley Farm Family
Picnic on Sunday, August 26th from 3-6 pm. We’ll provide meat, soda and
friends and great conversation, as well as picnic tables, and you bring a
dish to share. This will also give you a chance to see how are many
projects are progressing. Free for members! Interested? Give us a call at

National Farmers’ Market Week
9 AM to 12:30 PM
Come celebrate Connecticut agriculture and our local and organic farmers
and artisans, with a variety of special events and incentives. Rabbits will
visit the Children’s Corner, children will have a poster-making exhibition
and receive Farmers’ Markets tattoos.

Our noted basket maker Donna Lowell will be providing another basket making class August 1st (Wednesday). Class begins at 9:30 AM. and ends at 2 PM. Limited to 6 students. Early Guilford Days Family Festival
11 AM to 4 PM
Early Guilford Days Family Festival involves all five of Guilford's Historic Museums. At The Dudley Farm children are invited to do laundry with our 19th Century equipment, learn how to whittle with Doug Williamson, watch basket maker Donna Lowell demonstrate her craft, and learn how bobbin lace was made from members of the New England Lace Group. Participate in a scavenger hunt to explore our grounds, while taking a tour of the 17-room farm house.
Art and the New England Farm Program
On August 1, 2018 meet up at the Farm for an afternoon of art and history!
As part of “The Flo’s” summer-long exhibit, Art and the New England Farm,
this program directed by Julie Garvin Riggs, Museum Educator from the
Florence Griswold Museum, is geared to people new to painting au plein air
but is open to all. Meeting at 3 pm, participants will tour our 1844
farmhouse before making painting. All materials provided. Fee charged.

State of Connecticut's Museum Open House Day
The Dudley Farm Museum will again participate in the State of Connecticut's Museum Open House Day! Come tour our museum, visit our market, sample switchell and snickerdoodles, and observe a demonstration of lace making provided by members of the New England Lace Guild. From 9 AM to 3 PM.
Over 30 vendors will fill the Munger Barn all three days with holiday treats and
treasures to help you with your annual gift giving. Available, and always in
demand, are baked goods, eggs, fibers, fresh holiday greens, wreaths, trees
& decorations, handmade art & crafts, honey, jams & jellies, maple
syrup, naturally-raised meats, pickles, soap, and much more.

Planting Day: Come and help us celebrate planting season! Vendors will have a selection of seedlings and perennials ready for you to plant, in addition to their usual wares. Children can paint a flower pot and transplant a flower into it to take home. The Dudley Farm String Band will perform, and Melly P's Food Truck will offer locally sourced paninis. Stroll around the gardens and pasture and enjoy nature's abundance.

Earth Day and Sunday Afternoon at the
EARLY SPRING WILDFLOWER WALK

The Dudley Farm Museum is
pleased to be joining the Shoreline Outdoor Nature Center to present a
variety of family-friendly activities in celebration of EARTH DAY. Additionally,
Lauren Brown will lead interested folk on an Early Spring Wildflower Walk.
Please note: NO DOGS for this event.
Though we will be early for the notable displays, spring could be early too, and you never know what we might find. Join local botanist Lauren Brown for a sneak preview of the season.
Lauren Brown is the author of Wildflowers and Winter Weeds, Weeds and Wildflowers in Winter and Grasses: An Identification Guide.

Spaces are $20 and you will need to bring your own tables and chairs.
Set-up on Saturday morning must be completed by 7:30 AM. Early set-up on Friday Evening is at 6 PM. First come first serve. Food & beverages, including coffee & baked goods, will be available.
Donations accepted for gently used items in good condition for the Dudley Farm Tag Sale Table. Please make an appointment to drop off donations. No clothing please. BRUNCH AT THE BARN!
11 AM to 2 PM
Come join us Sunday, May 20th for our 3rd Annual Brunch to benefit The Big Barn Project. Using products from our Farmers’ Market and prepared by The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center, brunch will be served at the Munger Barn from 11 AM to 2 PM.
You’ll be able to learn details about our restoration project, and tour the Big Barn complex so you can personally see what is taking place during this restoration project. Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased at The Dudley Farm Museum or by calling 203-457-0770 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
