Maushop: Telling and Illustrating the Wampanoag Legend

The Dudley Farm is excited to welcome back award winning and prolific Mashpee Wampanoag artist, poet, and author Robert Peters on Saturday, May 31. He will share his art and read from his latest children’s book, Big Baby—the story of how a village cared for the legendary Wampanoag giant Maushop as a baby.

Robert’s work is intended to promote understanding and healing among Indigenous and non-Indigenous people everywhere. His painting, Grandmother Moon and the Three Sisters is permanently on display in our Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum.
